PrayerJar makes a prayer tracking app. This policy explains what we do and do not collect.
The short version
- PrayerJar is local-first. Your prayer requests, journal entries, answered prayers, rhythm/reminder settings, and prayer history are stored only on your device. We do not upload, sync, or have access to them.
- You can use the whole core app without an account.
- Community is optional and opt-in. Only if you choose to use Community do you create an account and share specific content with people you invite.
Data stored only on your device
Your prayer requests, journal entries, answered-prayer records, rhythm/cadence settings, reminder settings, prayed counts, and private prayer history stay on your device. If you delete the app, this local data is removed with it.
Data we process if you use Community
Community lets you share a copy of a specific prayer into a private, invite-only group. If you choose to use it, we process your email address, account identifier, display name, group names and invite codes, shared prayer copies, “I prayed” actions and timestamps, reports and blocks, and terms acceptance timestamp.
We do not upload your private unshared prayers, journal, answered records, or settings when you use Community.
Community data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, and protected by row-level security so only you and the members of your groups can see your shared content.
Giving and the monthly mailer
Giving and the monthly mailer subscription are handled on our website through our payment processor, Stripe — not inside the app. Payment details and any mailing address you provide are collected and stored by Stripe under their privacy policy, not by the PrayerJar app.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your data to track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not show ads or use ad networks.
- We do not use your prayer content for advertising or analytics profiling.
Deleting your account and data
If you use Community, you can delete your account at any time from the Community tab. This permanently deletes your account, display name, groups you created and the prayers shared in them, prayers you shared, your prayer actions, reports, and blocks. Your private on-device PrayerJar data is not affected. Deletion cannot be undone.
Children
PrayerJar is intended for adults, for example parents praying for and with their families. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
