For parents

Guide small prayers without making them small.

PrayerJar can help parents turn ordinary moments into a household rhythm of prayer. Use these prompts with children at breakfast, bedtime, in the car, or after a hard conversation.

Questions to ask

  • Who should we remember before God today?
  • What are we thankful for that we forgot to notice?
  • Where do we need help obeying God?
  • Who is hurting, lonely, sick, or afraid?
  • What do we need to confess and make right?

Simple prayer shape

  • Praise: God, You are good and faithful.
  • Thanks: Thank You for today’s mercies.
  • Confession: Forgive us and help us repent.
  • Request: Please help this person or need.
  • Trust: We leave this with You.

When kids do not know what to say

Let them name one person, one thanks, or one worry. Short prayers are still real prayers. The goal is not performance; it is learning to turn toward God together.

Scripture starters

  • Psalm 23 — the Lord shepherds His people.
  • Matthew 6:9–13 — Jesus teaches us to pray.
  • Philippians 4:6–7 — bring requests to God with thanksgiving.
  • James 5:16 — pray for one another.

PrayerJar is intended for adults, including parents praying for and with their families. It is not a public social network for children.
